The Winter Holidays are almost over and normality seems to be returning to the world; the evening arrives a little later each day, and the rich festive colours and stormy weather have been replaced by fog, bonfire smoke and milky sunlight.
I’ve been very lucky with my Christmas presents this year; my family know me very well so everything I received is guaranteed to be worn, used, read and enjoyed constantly. There were some lovely surprises, as well as a couple of requests – pictured – which haven’t left my side of the sofa since Christmas Day. It was very satisfying to arrange my precious circular needles in this beautiful chintz needle wrap by Ericka Eckles, which is now in constant use and making me happy with its mustard-gold roses. And Lynsey’s blog is lovely: funny, interesting and very pretty, a great read.
. . . As is Laine magazine, which I have been excited about ever since I heard it was to be launched, because it felt like someone had asked me what type of yarn inspires me, what part of the world would I like to get to know, what style of photography looks gorgeous, which designers would I like to read an interview with – and then made a magazine with all that in mind. It even smells delicious! Laine was a real treat to unwrap and an inspiration for the New Year, which personally is already looking interesting on the designing front. . .
